What You’ll Learn

Cultivate knowledge and skills to encourage and enforce workplace safety through the comprehensive study of human factors, regulatory awareness, hazardous materials, health hazards, ergonomics, accident prevention, and occupational risk management and control.
Graduates of NCC’s online associate degree in occupational health and safety program:
  • Develop and implement occupational safety and health programs and procedures within organizations to reduce or eliminate workplace exposures to risks and hazards.
  • Conduct workplace inspections to identify and mitigate areas that are not in compliance with Federal or Commonwealth laws and regulations.
  • Design and deliver occupational safety and health training programs.
  • Advise senior leadership on methods to achieve higher worker productivity with reduced expenses and litigation, reduction of absenteeism and positive workforce morale through the implementation of cost-effective workplace safety programs.

Program Overview:

NCC’s online associate degree in occupational health and safety program equips you to work as an occupational safety and health specialist in general industry or construction. These courses are also transferable to a four-year occupational safety and health program. The program empowers you with expertise in workplace safety, including designing ergonomic workplaces, complying with regulations, preventing accidents, managing and controlling occupational risks, and safely managing hazardous materials.

If you already hold an undergraduate degree, choose the Occupational Safety & Health Specialized Diploma program to enhance your qualifications and take on roles as an occupational safety and health technician in general industry or construction. Over two semesters of OSHA training online, immerse yourself in workplace safety, regulatory compliance, workplace ergonomics, occupational risk management and control, accident prevention and hazardous materials safety.

Invest in targeted career training that focuses on specific OSHA compliance skills through the Mid-Atlantic OSHA Training Institute Education Center (MAOTIEC), a consortium comprised of the Chesapeake Region Safety Council (CRSC) and Northampton Community College.
