The National Voter Registration Act strives to make it possible for every member of the Northampton Community College community to register to vote. This gives us a chance to dramatically increase the number of voters in our college communities.

Registration & Mail-Ballot Deadlines for PA Voters

*Please note that deadlines vary from state to state. These are the registration and mail-ballot deadlines for this current election cycle. Not voting as a PA resident? Find out about your state’s requirements.

  • October 21, 2024 – Last Day to REGISTER to vote or UPDATE your voter information before the General Election.
  • October 29, 2024 – Last Day to APPLY for a mail-in or absentee ballot
  • November 5, 2024 – GENERAL ELECTION. It is also the last day for the County Board of Elections Office to receive your mail-in or absentee ballot (must be received by 8PM).

Any qualified voter may apply for a mail-in ballot. You may simply make the request for this ballot without reason. If you will be away from your polling location for election day, you can request an absentee ballot. You can apply to vote from home here.

Become an NCC Votes Ambassador

Northampton Community College hires undergraduate students to serve as NCC Votes Ambassadors who help to promote voter education and registration on campus. Ambassadors are paid through work study and also earn an additional $500 stipend each semester in partnership with the Andrew Goodman Foundation’s Vote Everywhere program.

We are currently seeking an NCC Votes Ambassador for the Fall 2024 semester. Interested applicants should email nblichar@northampton.edu.

Northampton Community College is proud to be working with a number of state and national partners in our efforts to increase voter turnout and civic engagement on campus. Some of the organizations that we work with include:

  

All-In Democracy Challenge

Northampton Community College is a proud member of the All-In Democracy Challenge, which empowers colleges and universities to achieve excellence in non-partisan student democratic engagement. We work with All-In to develop a rigorous plan for how we will increase democratic engagement and voter turnout.

 

The Andrew Goodman Foundation

The Andrew Goodman Foundation works to make young voices and their votes a powerful force in democracy. The organization supports youth leadership development, civic advocacy, and social justice initiatives on campus. The Office of Student Life & Leadership Development hires two Ambassadors through Andrew Goodman’s Vote Everywhere Program. Ambassadors assist students with registered and making a plan to vote, organizes civic programming, and engages in lobby days in Harrisburg. We Vote: The Committee of Seventy

The Committee of Seventy is a non-partisan organization that galvanizes the business community, media partners, and major civic institutions and calls on each to play a leadership role ensuring a vibrant local democracy and prosperous democratic republic.

 

NCC Civic Programming – Fall 2024

Current NSLVE Report

The Institute for Democracy & Higher Education’s IDHE National Study of Learning, Voting, & Engagement (NSLVE, pronounced n-solve), is the nation’s largest study of college and university student voting. Northampton Community College participates in this study. The dataset helps us better understand voting patterns amongst various populations of students attending our college. Current NCC Campus Democratic Engagement Plan

The NCC Votes team recently submitted their 2024 Democratic Engagement Plan to ALL-IN for review and scoring. After review by ALL-IN, NCC received a 35 out of a possible 36 points for the plan. You can review our plans to implement voter education and civic engagement on our campuses here:
