There are 21 seats available; 12 at-large seats, 5 Pocono seats; 1 Fowler seat; 1 online student; 1 non-traditional student seat; & 1 first-year student seat (26 credits or less).

Candidates will be notified of the results via email on Wednesday, September 9, 2026.
The 2026-2027 election for Student Senate election is now open for all students currently enrolled in courses at Northampton Community College. Students may vote for up to 12 at-large representatives, 5 Pocono student representatives, 1 Fowler student representative, 1 online student representative, 1 first-year student representative, and write-in 1 adult/non-traditional student representative.

More details will be forthcoming, but the Retreat will provide an opportunity for the new Senators to connect with one another, start the nomination of their executive board officers, and learn more about being on Student Senate. - Tuesday, September 15, 2026 at 11AM: First Student Senate Meeting
All elected Student Senators must attend the first meeting of the semester. Meetings take place weekly at 11AM. All newly elected Senators will be notified about meeting dates via email.
Student Senate is the primary advocacy body for students at Northampton Community College. Student Senate supports shared governance at the college by providing student voices to governance committees, the Board of Trustees, and other administrative leaders at the college. Student Senate is also responsible for allocating funds to student clubs and organizations as well as approving any special funding requests and new student clubs/organizations. Student Senate may also take on special projects or initiatives to advocate on behalf of students at the college.
Membership is open to any currently enrolled part-time or full-time student at Northampton Community College. All Student Senators must maintain a 2.5 cumulative grade point average (GPA) to remain on Student Senate and be in good disciplinary standing with the college.
Student Senate consists of 21 members. 12 of these representatives are At-Large Senators who represent the college as a whole. 5 Student Senators are designated to represent the Pocono Campus. 1 Student Senator is designated to represent the Fowler Family Southside Center. 1 Student Senator is designated to represent the online campus and virtual students. 1 Student Senator is elected to represent part-time or non-traditional students and at least 1 Student Senator is elected to represent first-year students with less than 26 credits.
Each candidate is permitted to have 8 copies of 1 flyer for their campaign. For Bethlehem, copies should be brought to the Office of Student Life & Leadership Development (College Center 253) for approval. For the Pocono campus, students can bring 1 flyer to our satellite office located in Kapp Hall 120A.
Student Life staff will hang any flyers on our boards. Posting is only permitted in designated places. No one is permitted to tamper with, relocate, or remove any opponent’s materials and will be held responsible for the actions of their campaign.
No lobbying may occur during any class, unless permission has been explicitly given by the instructor prior. No candidate may use electronic means for lobbying which includes academic electronic systems or campus wide communication channels. Appropriate electronic avenues include the candidate’s own social media accounts.
